Guided by the glow of a full moon, this fun paddle reveals the beauty and mystery of Hammond Lake. A different world appears at night, while a knowledgeable, friendly guide shares information on the history of the lake, and surrounding natural environment.
This paddle is very easy, and is suitable for all experience levels. Paddlers who use our kayaks will paddle in single kayaks, no exceptions. Those who wish to bring their own kayaks may choose to paddle in a tandem kayak.
Everything needed to safely enjoy the paddle is included with in your registration fee. Participants will be most comfortable in clothing that can get a little wet.
All equipment required for the tour is included with your registration fee of $40 per person. Participants will be most comfortable in clothing that can get a little wet. All paddlers will use a single kayak. For those new to paddling, just trust us, a single kayak is easier and safer than a two person kayak. Participants are welcome to bring their own kayak (tandems included) and join the tour at a reduced rate of $25 per person. Participants must be at least 8 years old to join this paddle.
These paddles take place once a month, on the most ideal day, nearest to the full moon. Join the tour to learn about the seasonal significance of the full moon each month.
This guided kayak tour starts with 15-20 minutes of instruction for new paddlers. Experienced paddlers can enjoy a bit of free exploration time while we get our new-comers up to speed, or choose to stay close by and help our newbies get the hang of handling their vessels.
After launching from the shore of Hammond Lake, your friendly and experienced guide will re-tell the story of the lake and the important people and eras that played a critical role in the history of the park, as well as the city of Clermont. In addition to the historical picture that is literally painted by the surrounding natural setting and the story told by your guide, paddlers have the chance to see an abundance of native wildlife, flora and fauna.
This paddle is does not contend with a current, so is easy enough for first time paddlers, and interesting enough for the most experienced kayakers in the group.Participants must be at least 8 years old to join this paddle.

The registration fee does not include state park admission of $5 per vehicle, which must be paid upon entry.
